Pomegranate fuit

The pomegranate is considered as one of the oldest known fruits. It has been collected for thousands of years around the Mediterranean basin. Food for pleasure thanks to its subtle scent, pomegranate gives a pleasant touch of fantasy and exoticism. Its bright colors bring a ray of sunshine to your plates and its nutritional contributions contribute to our well-being.

A pomegranate weighs 300g to 350g on average. The apple-shaped fruit, initially green, turns orange-red when it ripens. The fruits do not continue to ripen once picked.

The fruit reaches up to ten centimeters in diameter. It contains many seeds the size of a corn kernel, enveloped in a garnet-pink pulp, juicy, sweet and slightly tart.

Pomegranates are almost always eaten raw, but a few exceptions are possible. Surprise your guests with a culinary preparation based on this exceptional fruit!

Well provided with vitamin C, the pomegranate is a fruit of diversification. It is perfectly suited to the nutritional needs of women, children and adolescents.

The pomegranate is available from October to March.

The relationship between pomegranate and blood pressure

Pomegranate juice helps lower blood pressure: this is what a large study has shown.

Scientists have compiled and analyzed the results of 8 randomized trials in what is called a meta-analysis.

Among the elements that emerged from this study, it appeared that regular consumption of pomegranate juice had a positive impact on high blood pressure.

Pomegranate is very rich in antioxidant polyphenols, which increase the production of dilating factors: the resulting increase in the caliber of blood vessels leads to a decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

To achieve this effect, there is no need to drink liters of pomegranate juice: 1 glass per day (250 ml) is enough.
